Many of you already know of the horrific immigration law which was approved in Arizona. It is unspeakalbe that our country would allow people to be treated in such a manner. This has however pushed the democrats into action and yesterday several senators unveiled an immigration bill that we hope will be introduced into congress shortly. This new bill would allow everyone who is here illegallly to apply for a work permit and eventually permanent residence. All will be required to pay taxes and back taxes. In addiition there must be no criminal record whatsoever.
One of the most interesting aspects of the bill is the fact that petitions by legal permanent residents will be treated as a first category petition as if it were a petition by a united states citizen
Now for our friends from Chile...
Many of you have been calling inquiring about TPS. Unfortunately this is not an option rght now. What we do know however is that USCIS will process any peitions pending as long as the priority date is current. It does not matter if the person is here illegally or not. For those of you who do not have any petitions pending with the USCIS, you will be able to renew your visas on which you entered the United States.
